Ewen graduated from Durham University in 2004 with a Degree in Natural Science and has been living and working in the Lake District ever since. He is passionate about all forms of hillwalking, mountaineering and climbing including bouldering, sport and traditional climbing, winter climbing and expeditions. Ewen is currently enjoying the winter hills while working towards his MIC assessment.

"Both of the guys (Ewen and Nick) were special. Aside from being well practised and drilled, both were sensitive to what we wanted to do and pushed us as to what we could achieve. Such experience and good-natured humour is rare in light of my experience of courses before..."   CJ, 2011

A few questions for Ewen...

Your favourite locations for DofE expeditions?

Bronze - Anywhere with signposts! Probably the White Peak area of the Peak District.

Silver - The Lake District, it's the place to be!

Gold - Torridon in the North-West of Scotland, great for getting miles away from anywhere.

What's the best thing about being on expedition?

The adventure.

What's the worst thing about being on expedition?

Running out of coffee...

What would we find in your rucksack that we really shouldn't?

A secret food stash that no-one knows about.
