Who Are We & What We Do?
Adventure Expeditions is a high quality provider of outdoor activities for schools and groups. We work with schools, colleges, universities, youth services, private groups and national organisations (e.g. Scouts, Guides, Air Cadets) and businesses all over the UK. We run a variety of Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award expedition and residential programmes, progressive school programmes with elements based both on and off the school grounds and activity programmes for The National Trust in the Peak District which support local young people in experiencing and enjoying the outdoors through rock climbing, team work and challenge.
Adventure Expertise is the outdoor training and skill development part of what we do. This includes training and mentoring future outdoor instructors and leaders through National Governing Body (NGB) Award courses such as the Lowland Leader, Hill and Moor Leader and Mountain Leader Awards, Single Pitch Award and Mountaineering Instructor Award. Adventure Expertise is a provider of ITC First Aid Courses and runs a selection of Outdoor First Aid, First Aid at Work and Emergency First Aid at Work courses throughout the year. Training takes place all over the UK, from local open spaces to the National Parks and from the South Coast to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. During the Winter months, our Winter Mountain Leaders and Mountaineering Instructor Certificate holders work in the North of the country, providing courses in Winter skills, Winter mountaineering and giving instruction and guiding in all aspects of snow, ice and mixed climbing. Any person or organisation requiring our support through technical advice and guidance joins us through Adventure Expertise and we also have a Mountaineering Instructor (MIC) who is legally trained and an expert witness witness in the outdoor field.
Our belief in the value of outdoor activities and the DofE Award for the development of young people has led us to develop into a not-for-profit enterprise. All work undertaken with schools, groups and open expeditions for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, youth activity programmes and all grant funded projects are undertaken on a not-for-profit basis as Adventure For Everyone: an enterprise intended to make DofE and outdoor activities as accessible to as many young people as possible. Every year, we undertake and support a range of projects using money generated by Adventure for Everyone. This includes funding for students who would not otherwise be able to access activities and expeditions and working with schools/groups to put DofE and activity programmes in place that are sustainable for years to come without an external provider coming in to deliver all/any of the activities - this includes supporting schools to train staff, designing delivery templates for activities, providing technical advice and purchasing equipment. Get in touch if you have a project idea that we might be able to help with.
