Today Adventure Expeditions had the pleasure of delivering a programme of climbing activities delivered on behalf of the Peak District National Trust. The day was a huge success and allowed 12 excited young people (and one equally excited adult!) a chance to explore what rock-climbing was all about, in the safe hands of an experienced Mountaineering Instructor in one of the Peak District’s prettiest climbing areas - the Burbage valley.
Participants learned to climb, had a go at developing their movement skills and gained balance in a range of different ways among the boulders before learning how to use harnesses, ropes and belay devices to look after each other when climbing.
Instructor Andy C from Adventure Expeditions would like to add a big thanks to everyone who attended - it was a fun day to run and a great opportunity for local young people to have a go at some of the activities that their natural, local 'play park' has to offer.
Keep your eyes out for a programme of equally exciting events that we’ll be running this year for the National Trust in the Peak District - fun guaranteed!
